Humans like to have their science and technology; in fact, they all too often believe that if they haven’t invented something, then it can’t possibly exist. So that they like to focus on their machines, their robots, their internet, their AI, their theories and their formulas. Meaning that a great many of them close their eyes to the possibility of miracles ever taking place. Instead, they like to have a logical explanation for everything around them, meaning that the whole possibility of miracles gets dumbed right down.
Step forward your favourite parrot! Let me ask you a pivotal question: what came first, the parrot or the egg? This scientific and philosophical conundrum had Aristotle scratching his head so hard, that the poor man ended up bald as a coot, (and who’d be seen without any sort of crest?)
True, our world is far from perfect, but abundant life (including parrots) couldn’t have simply created itself. There had to be some kind of creation process set in train by a higher power. Meaning, (as I may have mentioned in the past), that yours truly is a walking, breathing, living miracle, spearheaded at one end by a magnificent beak. And now that we’re heading into Springtime, we’re starting to see Mother Nature come back to life after the dormancy of Winter. So, maybe some humans will start to believe that miracles can be real, and that God really is the Master Craftsman behind all living things.
“The first living organism could never have come into existence by chance.”
(Dr. Edgar Andrews: [1932 – present]: English physicist and engineer)
“God dwells in His creation and is everywhere indivisibly present in all His works. He is transcendent above all His works even while He is immanent within them.” (A.W. Tozer: [1897 – 1963]: American Christian pastor and author).
“The human body has been called the microcosm of the universe, a little world of wonders and a monument of divine wisdom and power, sufficient to convince the most incredulous mind of the existence of the Great Designer.” (A. B. Simpson: [1843 – 1919]: Canadian Christian preacher, theologian and writer.)
“Miracles are not contrary to nature, but only contrary to what we know about nature.” (G.K. Chesterton: [1874 – 1936]: English Christian apologist writer).
“Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God’.” (Mark 10:27)
